We look forward to greeting Suwalk-Lomza SIG members - and others with interests in the former Suwalki and Lomza gubernias - at our meeting. It is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 3:00-4:15 in the Juniper Room. The session will be led by Bob Zavos, who will illustrate the several components of our website, and briefly discuss our Research Journal ("Landsmen") and the printed hand-outs brought to the meeting for attendees.
Rachel Unkefer - co-leader of the Suwalk-Lomza DNA project - will then speak about the results, and insights gained, from DNA testing of the 94 participants in that project to date.
The meeting will conclude with an opportunity for all attendees to briefly introduce themselves and mention their specific towns of interest.
Those who are relatively new to genealogy and/or not sure of the towns in our Suwalk-Lomza focus area might want to take a few moments to review our website on JewishGen:
Wishing everyone a wonderful experience in Seattle,
Marlene Silverman, Suwalk-Lomza SIG Chairman and "Landsmen" Editor
